My rosewater-mace-caraway seeds cookies had an aromatic role in ‘Harriet’s Return,’ an Off-Broadway production. I created Harriet Tubman’s ‘getaway snack’ based on an historic African American cookbook recipe. “The home-baked cookies Sylvia developed provided aroma, flavor and drama,” Karen Jones Meadows, Playwright, Actor ‘Harriet’s Return.
My contract on grief therapy for minority children was funded by a grant to the Billy Esposito Foundation and Metlife Insurance companies. I developed multicultural outreach and engagement strategies to promote mental health resources for bi-lingual and under-served NYC communities. Click here for highlights from the press conference we developed, as featured on NY1 Noticias.
I mentored artists and indie film festivals about film sources, judges, crowdfunding, and sponsors. I advised theater productions and coordinated women’s salons – on boomer blogging and intersectional wellness groups.
As a certified Education and Training Consultant with New Jersey State Department of Education, Newark Public School and Newark Museum, I designed literacy and media arts programs for teacher-training workshops.
I provided social media strategy and digital writing services for the Harlem Fine Arts Show @harlemfinearts national tour. Click here for a link to my work for them.
